Winemaker’s Vineyard Notes:River Cobbles and alluvial fan soils.Wente clone. On the Sonoma side of Carneros. Organically farmed.

Winemaker’s Tasting Notes: All French Oak, 20% new wood. Indigenous primary and secondary fermentation. Unfined, unfiltered. Golden straw in color. Full-bodied, floral nose of ripe fig, pear, and citrus with secondary aromas of hazelnuts and melon. Delicious mouth of pear, fig, and liquid minerals with a hint of green apple on the finish.

2008 Viognier Catie's Corner Vineyard
Winemaker’s Vineyard Notes: Organically farmed, cool climate, 1/3 of a ton off the whole acres.

Winemaker’s Tasting Notes: All French oak, NO new wood. Whole-cluster, direct to press, direct to barrel. Indigenous yeast primary fermentation and natural completion of ML. Unfined, unfiltered. Fragrant nose of apricots, butterscotch, peaches and licorice. Secondary aromas of cotton candy and floral orange peel. Concentrated flavors of apricots, mandarin oranges, and peaches nicely framed by a vibrant citrus peel acidity.

2007 Syrah Napa Valley Phoenix Ranch Vineyard
Winemaker’s Vineyard Notes: Cool climate area of south Napa known as Coombsville. Estrella River and Syrah Noir clones. Harvested October 5th and 9th.

Winemaker’s Tasting Notes: 27 months sur lees aging in French oak, 20% new wood. 50% Whole Cluster. Indigenous yeast primary fermentation and natural completion of ML. Punch downs only. No SO2 added until one month prior to bottling, which is when we racked the wine for the only time. Unfined, unfiltered. Dark, red beet, leaning toward purple is the color. Big nose of violets, white pepper, anise, cassis, orange peel, and red meats. Gigantic mouthful of brambly blackberry, cassis, and a bit of chewy tannin framed by super dark (think 90% cacao) chocolate. It’d be prudent to decant this rascal! 14.7% alc. 270 cases produced. $50 per bottle.

2008 Pinot Noir Russian River Valley Pleasant Hill Vineyard
Winemaker’s Vineyard Notes: Cool climate, sustainably farmed, right on 2 1/2 tons to the acre. A normal year in the vineyard with a bit of heat in early September and harvest on the 12th. Dijon clones 115, 667, & 777.

Winemaker’s Tasting Notes: All French oak, 35% new wood. Indigenous yeast primary fermentation and natural completion of ML. Punch downs only! Unfined, unfiltered. Ruby red in color. High-toned nose of bing cherry cola, soy and asian spice, and bergamot. Luxurious mouthful of dark cherry and blackberry with a touch of baker’s chocolate on the finish. The pleasure principle is in effect here. 14.8% alc. 500 cases produced. $45 per bottle.
