2012 Pinot Noir, 'Pleasant Hill', Russian River
Vineyard Notes: Sustainably farmed, cool climate vineyard site. A classic vintage with plenty of foggy mornings, warm sunshiny days, and cool Russian River nights.
Winemaker's Tasting Notes: Aged in 40% new French oak barrels, sur lees. Gorgeous dark cherry in color. Big, luxurious nose of dark, ripe cherry, tangerine, bergamot, and floral notes of rose petal. Secondary hints of orange pekoe tea, Chinese Five Spice and a touch of tarragon. Big, silky flavors of dark cherry and blueberry with afterthoughts of bright pomegranate and tangerine tea, and a big finish of Bing cherry and Baker's chocolate.
